We had issues during Valentines week that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. We had robbers come into the house we are building and steal all of the electrical wiring out of the house. That was Sunday evening, the 12th. Lots of damage to the celing in our bedroom but the wires were cut so that a junction could be made and we could move on, a month delay. The evening of the 13th they came back and got all of the plumbing, and left us with smashed outlets and scratched hardwood floors and now we are looking at a 3 month delay, not to mention two deductibles with the insurance company. I was simply devastated. But, we picked ourselves up and we are moving on, we got a security system and feel like we have done all we can do to prevent it from happening again.  Our builder’s are sticking with us and will see it finished. Thank The Good Lord.

So, not a lot of fiber was spun or knitting to report on, since it has taken a lot of time getting our heads on straight again. But, I am still working on Wizard Island, and in the meantime, I got Wayfarer too:

Wayfarer - FCK SW Merino, Bamboo, Nylon

I made a little progress on the curtain, but now I am in “tink” mode, so no use showing that! So, I will leave you with this beautimous bouquet of flowers that our builders sent to me on Friday. They are really nice, nice men, and felt bad for me. . .

That rose was a pink/orange with red highlights. I have never seen such a beautiful arrangement!

Well, the saga of the Deco Cardigan continues. I wrote a couple of people on Ravelry that had Madelinetosh Alpaca Sport in the Baltic color, and asked if they would consider selling me a skein. One person, just plain didn’t answer, the other, “justrunknit” was kind enough to offer any leftovers she may have from her Larch Cardigan she is making now. She even offered to consider making it short sleeved, which is really unreal to me! So, the sweater will wait until I have an answer one way or another.

The House:

Muck City . . . aka The House

As you can see, there was lots of work done this week, the porch was poured, siding was put up, we have kitchen countertops:

The counter tops are in!

there are plugs in the walls, sinks put in, oh joy! We may actually move in this year!! More photos on my Flickr pages – you can get there from the sidebar to the right –

My big five-oh birthday came and went without much ado, I did receive these from my sister:

Flowers for my birthday

Aren’t they beautiful? They were left on the step upside down, so, I am amazed at how well they came back to life!

And I have this leftover croc and tidal singles to do: I will be N-Plying those to see what they look like that way.

But, only after I get the curtain going that I am working on for the master bathroom. More on that next week!

Yeah, my darling is just this side of the Big One!  But, he is still that fun lovin’ guy I met 30 years ago.  Thirty Years!!  OMG!  Ok, I want to live forever, because I feel like I have just begun to have fun!  The ladies and groups  I have met out here are the nicest people on earth, I do believe.  I have never moved into a town and felt so at home so quickly.  I will admit, that it felt like forever at first, and all I can say to that is don’t move in the winter time!

Ok, so I’ve been learning “Twine Knitting”  and I have to say it’s gorgeous, but it’s not all that fun to me.  First of all, I just couldn’t handle working from two ends of one ball because the color was way too close, so I am working with two different skeins of yarn:

The other reason I chose to use a contrasting “white” yarn, is that if you use only one skein, the mittens won’t match.  That would be too sad to contemplate, for this anal accountant.  Add to all that that as you are knitting the two yarns are twisting upon each other, and you have to stop every round, or half round and untwist.  Yah.  Ok so, while I’m at it I am working both at the same time, that way I will get a pair of mittens in the end!

It’s 80 degrees (Fahrenheit) and gorgeous near this little stream we are on, I do hope Spring is coming your way too!  Can someone please tell me what these plants are?

I am still working on my secret present for Mom, and I am still working on Granite, and you should see my seat in the living room!   But, it’s all good.

We are busy, busy, busy!  Chris is off to Pigeon Forge, TN this weekend, (car show/car sell/car buy – oh boy!) and I am going to see the gals from Bowling Green, in Loretto.  Picking up Caryn and Josh on Friday in Lexington, and leaving Saturday morning, then bringing them back to Lexington.  Lots of driving in store for me/us.

So, tell me how you are, what you’ve been up to!  I would love to hear from you!  🙂
