That was the general consensus last week at chez Potere’s house. . .  we started with Bryan on the 17th and this was a shot of my car from the back:

On the 18th we drove to Lexington in two cars, with Bryan and Caryn following Dad and Mom over there.  The actual move into the apartment turned into a breeze, since he owns a bottom floor apartment and the parking spaces were all empty in front so we were three feet from the door!  How cool was that?!  After lots of finagling and discussion we missed a few things, but hey!  We would be back on Saturday. . . no problem.   So, we get through a couple more days with Mom buying lamps, and curtains, curtain rods and a toilet tissue holder for Bryan, then Caryn and I start to pack her up.  What? Where are all our military bags?  OMG Bryan has them!  Crap!  So off we go to buy a bag. . . and one hair straightener, one pair of shorts that don’t fit, (and don’t ask) and one body bag later we get Caryn all packed up!  Off we go again. . . We get Caryn’s computer set up and the rest is up to her.  We meet her roommate, who seems very nice, then off we go to Bryan’s.  We wash windows and screens, we hang curtains, damn, I forgot the tie back pins, and do you think he has bought them yet?  Uh, no.  So off go Mom and Dad, with the brother bringing the sister to the student center to buy books and other stuff. . . it was very happy and sad all at the same time.

After all that can you believe that my neck loosened up and things have been much better on the spinning and knitting front.  Although, right now my biggest priority was/is to get my house in order, but it’s coming along slowly.   I went to a yarn tasting event at the lys Enchanted Yarn and Fiber  and that was a lot of fun, fun, fun!  We had 10 or 12 fibers in our goodie bag, we all brought needles and tried them out.  This was my end result:

Most are scrumptious!

Here is another shot of my sample knitting a little closer:

From bottom to top:  Araucania Nature Wool, Frog Tree Merino (big thumbs down on this imo), Frog Tree Meriboo (Oooo Yum), Mirasol Sulka,  Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran, Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed, Frog Tree Merino Melange (OMG Yum this time), Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, and Miraso Miski (another OMG Yum).  There are/were at least three others that didn’t get on this swatch, but are really nice, Sublime Organic, Sublime Extrafine  wool, and Frog Tree Alpaca Sport. . . And this weekend Chris’s brother, Jeff  and Sister in law, Carol came down and I got to give her, her scarf:

Plus Chris got a promotion this week so we took him out to dinner, and we went to Burgess Falls in Tennessee, I got overheated and got sick. . . oh boy, what a fun person I am to be around!  Anyway, and on the road I got to the fingers on Caryns (third) glove:

The colors are funky, I’m having a few camera issues – but what else is new?  Ok, so I think this is long enough and you all are bored out of your minds, so I will leave all the spinning news to next week!
